How kitchen resprayers count doors, drawers and extras

When you send a WhatsApp photo or book a home measure, a sprayer tots up the individual surfaces that have to be degreased, keyed, primed on both sides and top-coated:

  • Standard doors and drawer fronts count as one item each (a 4-drawer pack counts as 4 drawer fronts, though smaller fronts are priced lighter than full doors).
  • Tall larder doors, integrated fridge-freezer doors and double-sided glazed doors take roughly 1.5× the booth space and masking time of a standard 720mm door.
  • Island panelling, tongue-and-groove backs, open plate racks, wine grids and mantelpiece hoods are intricate to sand and spray without runs, so they are priced alongside the door count.
  • Inside of cabinets. Standard quotes cover both faces and all four edges of every door plus the visible exterior frames and end panels. The inside of solid carcasses (which are normally wipe-clean melamine or oak veneer) is only sprayed inside open-shelving or glass-fronted display units.

Why respraying saves €7,500 to €16,000

In a mid-range €12,000 to €18,000 new kitchen, over 70% of your spend goes on new 18mm chipboard carcasses, skip hire, ripping out tiles, replastering and paying fitters, plumbers and electricians to put the exact same boxes back in the exact same places. If your carcasses are dry and your layout works, respraying (€1,250 to €2,000) puts 100% of your budget into the visible finish.

Questions homeowners ask

How much does it cost per door to respray a kitchen in Ireland?

Worked out per piece (including all the fixed end panels, plinths, cornices and on-site masking bundled in), a professional 2-pack kitchen respray works out at roughly €75 to €110 per door/drawer front.

Does a two-tone kitchen respray (different colour on the island) cost extra?

Most sprayers either include a second colour on a large kitchen + island quote or charge a small set-up fee of €100 to €250 to cover mixing a second tin of 2-pack lacquer and flushing the spray lines.

Can I get a quote by sending photos of my kitchen?

Yes. Almost every specialist kitchen resprayer in Ireland can give you a firm guide quote from 3 or 4 clear phone photos showing each wall of your kitchen and a close-up of one door edge.
