What's included
- Unscrewing and numbering every door, drawer front and kickboard to transport to the controlled spray booth.
- Full chemical degreasing, mechanical dust-extracted sanding and high-adhesion priming on both sides of every door.
- On-site masking of worktops, floors, appliances and internal cabinet boxes, then spraying fixed end panels, pelmets, cornices and face frames to match.
- Two to three coats of hard-wearing 2-pack polyurethane or acid-catalyst cabinet lacquer in your chosen colour and sheen (10% matte, 20% satin or 30% eggshell), followed by re-hanging and hinge alignment.
What pushes it up or down
- Number of doors, drawers and end panels. Sprayers price primarily by piece count — each door leaf, drawer front, wine-rack grid and visible end panel goes through four separate prep and spray stages.
- Condition of the existing doors. Sound solid oak, ash, pine, painted timber and intact MDF take primer straight after degreasing and sanding. Peeling vinyl-wrapped MDF doors need stripping and raw-MDF sealing first (adding €250 to €600).
- In-frame vs lay-on doors. An in-frame kitchen requires masking every internal cabinet opening on site so the solid timber frames around the doors can be sprayed seamlessly.
- Changing handle positions or worktops. Filling existing 96mm/128mm handle holes with 2-pack filler and re-drilling for cup pulls and knobs adds €150 to €450; adding a fresh laminate worktop adds €800 to €2,000.

Common questions about kitchen respraying
How much does it cost to respray a kitchen in Ireland?
In Ireland, respraying a small kitchen (up to 10 doors and drawer fronts) costs €700 to €1,000. A standard medium family kitchen (10 to 20 doors) costs €1,250 to €2,000, and a large kitchen with an island and tall larder run (20 to 35+ doors) costs €2,000 to €4,500. That saves 75% to 85% compared with a €10,000 to €20,000 new fitted kitchen.
Do you spray the doors on site or take them away?
Specialist kitchen resprayers do both: all removable doors, drawer fronts and kickboards are unscrewed and taken to a temperature-controlled, dust-extracted workshop spray booth for degreasing, sanding, priming and 2-pack spraying. Then the team spends 1 day on site masking your room and spraying the fixed end panels, pelmets, cornices and face frames so everything matches.
Can you respray a dark solid oak or orange pine kitchen?
Yes — solid oak, ash, maple and pine kitchens are the single best candidates for respraying because the timber doors and hinges are built to last decades. Two coats of high-build blocking primer seal the wood tannins so no yellow knots bleed through, leaving a smooth satin finish while keeping a subtle whisper of natural woodgrain.
Can peeling vinyl-wrapped or foil kitchen doors be resprayed?
You cannot spray on top of peeling vinyl, because the foil will keep lifting underneath the paint. However, because the core underneath is solid routed MDF, a sprayer can heat-strip the vinyl film off completely, solvent-clean the glue, seal the raw MDF with high-build primer and spray it like new (stripping adds €250 to €600).
How long does a sprayed kitchen finish last?
When sprayed in a booth with commercial 2-pack polyurethane (2K PU) or acid-catalyst (AC) cabinet lacquer — not ordinary hardware-store wall or trim paint — a kitchen respray typically lasts 8 to 12+ years in a busy family home and can be wiped clean with warm soapy water.
Can you colour-match Farrow & Ball or Colourtrend shades?
Yes. Commercial cabinet lacquer tinting systems colour-match any shade from Colourtrend, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Fleetwood or the RAL chart, and mix it in 10% matte, 20%–25% satin (the most popular wipe-clean kitchen sheen) or 30% eggshell.
